summer 2019 capsule

in my mind, summer and menswear are never good friends. growing up, i just threw on shorts and a t-shirt and that was it. it was always SO hot that i never felt like there was room for creativity. instead, i patiently waited for fall to come around so i could finally do something interesting again. i’m saying no to this mindset in 2019. instead, i will be playing with fabric, layers, and colors this summer which is why i am so excited for tis capsule to start.

crafting my capsule

i have again decided on 30 pieces to wear over the next 30 days. here is the breakdown:

11 tees

5 button-ups

1 blazer

8 bottoms

4 pairs of shoes

color palette: this capsule is filled with different colors although i found myself leaning towards neutrals, earth tones, and clay-colored pieces.

day-to-day: i work downtown during the day but our dress code is very free! i can wear anything within reason so i am excited to be able to access my full capsule every day of the week. on the weekends, i am mostly out and about or working on my blog.

weather: it’s going to be hot. on cooler days, i left myself a warmer long sleeve and i can always throw on my blazer. but for the most part, boston is hot and humid during the summer so breeziness will be the name of the game.

like last time, having a few rules for accountability went a long way. here are the rules i’ll be sticking to throughout my summer challenge:

1. from july 1-30, i will only pull pieces from this capsule wardrobe (weather permitting).

2. i will post a photo of my outfit every day

3. i will provide weekly check-ins, talking about how this capsule is going.

the capsule.

i have included all of the pieces i will be wearing below. if you are interested in learning more about these pieces, i have linked them to where i purchased them or to something i felt was a strong equivalent. always feel free to reach out to me through email or insta if you have more questions!
